Good Afternoon Family and Friends
I miss you all so deeply. My time in Guatemala has been so beautiful. Two weeks ago, I said goodbye to my host family and reunited with my team. It was so hard to leave Chicaman and go back to a big city life experience. I never thought I would say this, but I love the country life. Being in the city of Antigua for the last two weeks for training and debrief has been a culture shock. There are just so many people, too many choices to buy, and too many things to see. Whereas in Chicaman it was easy for me to walk around town and not get lost, the second day here in Antigua, my friend Justin and I were lost for about an hour and a half. The good news is that God allowed us to find two Christian women who were not only willing to give us directions, but walked us back to our hostel. Praise the Lord!!
While leaving Chicaman, we were stopped by the police. As most of you know, I am highly afraid of cops. Therefore, being stopped by the police was quite an experience. First, our driver was asked for his license and registration. Second, the officers asked us all for our identification. Third, we were all asked to get out of the car. Then the officers searched all of our items. One of the officers found salt in my pocket. I was so nervous because he questioned it but continued to search for more items. I am so thankful that this incident ended well. Even though I am still afraid, I am able to live in freedom that God has overcome this world.
Please continue to pray for my time here. I will be leaving Guatemala today. I have some exciting news to tell you!! We are heading to Costa Rica. I am not sure what our ministry opportunity will be but I will keep you informed. Please continue to pray for my team as we transition to the next country.
